In soccer, there are plenty of things that you can do to improve your skills to help your game, like anything else it will take hard work and dedication. In this article I will discuss a few drills that will help you improve your soccer skills that will show on the field.
First you should do a 10 minute warm-up, just do some stretches, a few jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, just the basics, when you feel loose, you can get started on your drills, I would advise anyone to do a warm-up, it will decrease your chances of getting injured.
One of the best practicing drills is juggling, then dribble the ball continuous around cones and get faster each time you do it, place 10 cones or whatever marker you can find for this drill, I would do this do this about 20 times a day, trust me, you will see improvements, then go for ball touches, pass a ball against the wall and trap it, I advise you to start off close to the wall and when you
get better start moving further away, do it close for about 5 min then move back until about 15 meters away for a longer pass, move further back when you feel that you are ready for it, make sure when you trap the ball you keep it close to u and use the side of your foot, your passing and ball control will get better, make sure you do one touches as well, you should practice this for at least 30-45 minutes each time. When you are doing these drills, always remember to use both feet, remember soccer is two feet, not one and when you are ready, you can start practicing drills with your head, just follow the same instructions as with your feet. After you have ball control and your drills seem effective, try running while dribbling the ball the length of the soccer field. With all of this being said, make sure your breathing techniques are being done; you will loose your endurance if you are not breathing correctly.
As was stated earlier in the article, having great soccer skills will not just come overnight, you will have to do a lot of practicing, if you work hard and are disciplined, you will achieve your goals that much faster.
