Fundamentals of Soccer

There are a few fundamental soccer skills that you need to master to be a successful soccer player. Just about all of these skills can be learned through either repetition or observation. The first main skill to master is learning how to kick. There are a couple differnet ways to kick in soccer. The first is the inside of your foot, where you position the foot not kicking in the direction you want the ball to go and swing back your kicking leg to strike the ball with the arch of your foot. Another way to kick is with the outside of your foot, where its important to kick the ball with the outside of your laces. The second soccer fundamental is dribbling, which can be done with the inside or ourside of your foot. It’s very important to maintain good ball control while dribbling and use your eyes to scan the field for open players to pass the ball to. Ball control is probabley the most important fundamental becuase with out proper ball control; you will lose the ball and the rest of the offensive fundamentals won’t matter. Heading is also an important fundamental of soccer becuase if done wrong, it can lead to injury. You want the ball to hit on your forehead and use your entire upper body as force to hit it. The final fundamental is tackling where you stay in front of the defender and wait for the chance to steal the ball from him. Just remember that their are fouls in soccer so try not to just take out the denfender to get the ball. Remember play the ball, not the defender.
